Indian restaurant

Post by pingpongguru » Fri Feb 22, 2013 3:10 pm

I had been to the Spice Pub, an Indian restaurant on 544 in Murphy few times. I went there today and found it closed and an eviction notice on the door.

Any Indian restaurent in Wylie?

You can send them an email to find out if they are opening at another location. Here is the link to their website.

Thats sucks. Both of my india places closed this month. I know its had several owners and is pretty much always dead. We would have went more if it did not take 40 min or more to get food.

What is the other Indian place which was closed? A restaurent?

There is a good South Indian Vegetarian in Richardson at Richardson Heights (http://www.udipicafeusa.com/). In Plano North I have been to Chennai Cafe (http://www.chennaicafeusa.com/), Chettinad (http://www.chettinaadpalace.com/)

Bismilah. It was a Paki/Indian grocery store with a restaurant in the back, on 544 in Richardson. It was trashy but excellent food. They actually kinda moved but dropped the association with the closed store. They are now Renner Pizza and grill. Near North Star. It's a real small store and they do pizza delivery now. They also do a few of the items from the old store, like biryani and a few currys. Monday 2.99 for chicken biryani and its a huge portion. Pizza and paki is a weird combo I know. They have a few pizzas that they have tried to make paki style. They are interesting. Not sure if they will make it, but the owner told me the overhead at the old location was very $$. People did not really buy groceries there except meat. He is a great guy.

I need a new place to get fresh goat. :banghead:

There is a big Indian grocery store in Richardson on Plano Blvd + Beltline called India Bazar. A larger number of Indian/Pakistani people buy from there. Other than that, I dont see any Indian grocery store close to Murphy/Wiley.

In Carrolton/Castle Hills area where I live now have more than five Indian grocery stores in 5 to 10 miles radius. There are 3 or 4 catering places too. Thats what I'm going to miss when I move to Wiley. Because we get back home late and no time to cook, we depend on these catering places. After moving to Wiley, we will save time, and use the time to cook at home. The food at the catering places are cheap, tasty and time saving, but it is not healthy.

What we need is an indian fast food place. Like a Spice-in-the-Box, or McCurrys.
